Overview

Broward County Athletic Association (BCAA) is the largest high school athletic conference in Broward County and the second largest in the state of Florida. The BCAA is a unit of the School Board of Broward County overseeing 24 sports programs at member high schools. The BCAA is comprised of 29 public schools, three private schools and two charter schools for a total of 34 schools under the BCAA umbrella.
-
The BCAA recognizes the importance and value of education. The term “student athlete” recognizes the importance of being a student first, with athletic endeavors second. All student athletes must maintain a minimum of a 2.0 GPA. Students who fall below this standard are ineligible to play.
The BCAA gives special recognition annually to scholar athletes. Each and every year the BCAA conducts two scholar athlete banquets. Seven students from each BCAA school are recognized and provided a keepsake gift. In addition, the BCAA distributes over $100,000 in scholarship dollars to scholar athletes. The names and schools of the scholar athletes are listed on the website for the entire school year. These athletes are role models who demonstrate a commitment to excellence in the classroom and field or court of play.

High School Athletics
The top priority is to deliver the District’s athletic offerings in a safe and secure manner. Health and wellness protocols, established in accordance with guidance from the Centers for Disease and Prevention, local health experts, and the Florida High School Athletic Association, have been in place since the start of Return to Play for fall sports and are ongoing.
Below are resources for student-athletes and their parents/guardians, including updated Answers to Frequently Asked Questions, as well as information on protocols for spectators at athletic events.
Prioritizing the health and safety of all students and staff remains our primary focus. If you have questions or concerns, contact Patty Brown, Director of Athletics and Student Activities.
Spectator Protocols (Updated 8/19/2022)
The FHSAA and BCAA require student-athletes to complete specific online courses which are offered for free, prior to participation. Access the six mandatory classes.
All student-athletes are required to provide a completed athletic packet. These packets are provided by individual schools. Visit your school's website for more information.

So who is this kid, and why is the crew smiling EAR-TO-EAR?
Gino had a very energetic and enthused Ball Boy at Pines Charter last night. So he took the opportunity to formally SWEAR him in as part of the crew pre-game. Caleb raised his right hand and everything, so it would be official. Then he took a solemn oath to pay attention, not talk on his cell phone during the game, and to not cheer for either team.
Caleb was officially part of the crew, shook hands to seal the deal, and had this picture taken with his new crew to commemorate the occasion.
