FCHC Conference 2016 /  February 19-21 / Gainesville, FL

Greetings Florida Collegiate Honors Council Members and Friends,

On behalf of the Florida Collegiate Honors Council and our conference host Santa Fe College, I invite you to submit your proposals for the 2016 Florida Collegiate Honors Council 27th Annual Conference. This years Theme is “Explorations of a Good Life.” According to Aristotle, the good life is an active life spent in pursuit of virtue, happiness, and most significantly, of exercising that trait which makes us distinctly human, that is, our rational capacity. Honors education challenges students to engage deeply in their academic studies, to connect with their communities, and to reflect upon how their experiences contribute to their intellectual, professional, and personal pursuits.

Conference proposals will be accepted through midnight, Tuesday, December 15, 2015. Notifications of acceptance will be going out starting December 22, 2015.

The conference will begin with dinner the evening of Friday, February 19, 2016 and end in the early afternoon on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at the Paramount Plaza. The room rate is $89.00 a night. The deadline to secure that rate is January 20, 2015. To make room reservations please click here.

Members of the Florida Collegiate Honors Council are invited to explore a variety of topics and applications across disciplines using examples of academics, leadership, and service. Students and faculty are encouraged to relate their honors experiences by presenting scholarly work to attendees in sessions or through poster representations.  If you have questions or concerns, please contact Bobby Hom at bobby.hom@sfcollege.edu.
