2008 FCHC Annual Conference Information

The Florida Collegiate Honors Council Executive Board invites and encourages you to come and Discover the Treasures of Honors at the 2008 FCHC conference. This year’s conference will begin Friday, February 22 (registration opens at 5:00pm) and ends at 12:15pm on Sunday, February 24, 2008.  The conference will be held in the downtown area of Tampa, Florida where attendees will be able to explore a lively city and discover its own treasures.

Following the awards ceremony, which will begin at 6:00PM, all attendees will be escorted via Tampa’s own streetcar system to the beautiful Ybor City Museum Garden for an evening of food, music, and fun.

The 2008 Conference theme, Discover the Treasures of Honors will allow presenters to explore a variety of topics.  I encourage you to submit proposals for presentations.

The beginning of a new academic year always proves to have its own set of challenges and opportunities.  For our state universities and community colleges, budget cuts are becoming an unfortunate reality.  Your FCHC Board has determined that this year’s conference should have a lower registration fee.  The conference hotel suites sleep up to six, and a complimentary full cooked-to-order breakfast buffet will be offered each morning.  Please be sure to register early to take advantage of the registration rate.

The FCHC conferences continue to provide venues for those involved in Honors to come together and to share scholarship, ideas, and friendship.  Your Executive Board plans for the 2008 conference to be memorable for all of the attendees.  We look forward to seeing you in Tampa, in 2008.

Thank you,

Lauren Grinstead
